Backstage Jiu-Jitsu: Rolling with Biohazard’s Billy Graziadei Before the Show

There are few things better than combining two of my greatest passions: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and heavy music.

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to meet up once again with my good friend Billy Graziadei, guitarist and vocalist of the legendary hardcore band Biohazard, before they took the stage.

As always, we made time for what has become a tradition whenever our schedules allow it—training Jiu-Jitsu.

From the Mats to the Stage

Touring musicians spend countless hours sitting in buses, traveling between cities, sound checking, and preparing for performances. Training offers them not only a great workout, but also a way to stay physically and mentally sharp before stepping in front of thousands of fans.

Billy has embraced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the same intensity and dedication that made him one of hardcore’s most respected musicians.

Our session focused on technical exchanges, movement, timing, and plenty of live rolling. It was another opportunity to learn from each other, share ideas, and simply enjoy being on the mats together.

More Than Training

What makes these sessions special isn’t only the Jiu-Jitsu.

It’s the friendships that have grown through the art.

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of training with musicians from some of the biggest bands in metal and hardcore, and every session reminds me that Jiu-Jitsu has a unique ability to connect people from completely different worlds.

Whether you’re a professional fighter, a touring musician, or someone training after work, everyone steps onto the mat as equals.

Thank You, Billy

A huge thank you to Billy for once again taking the time to train before the concert.

It’s always an honor to share the mats with you, exchange techniques, have some great rolls, and spend time together. Thank you for the friendship, the knowledge, and for always making me feel like part of the Biohazard family.

I wish the entire band a fantastic tour, and I’m already looking forward to the next time we meet—whether it’s on the mats or backstage before another incredible show.

See you next time, brother.
