There are moments in a coach’s life that make every early morning, every difficult session, every sacrifice, and every setback worth it. August 1, 2026, was one of those moments.
After nearly a decade of training together at Casa de Luta MMA Saarbrücken, Noah Gugnon stepped into the UFC Octagon for the very first time. The young French lightweight entered the fight as the underdog against the dangerous Milos Janičić, but anyone who has watched Noah grow over the years knew that he belongs on the biggest stage in mixed martial arts.
He proved it in spectacular fashion.
A Statement in the UFC
From the opening seconds, Noah remained composed, trusted his preparation, and stayed true to his style. Once the fight hit the ground, years of grappling experience took over.
With relentless pressure, smooth positional control, and absolute confidence, Noah secured a Rear Naked Choke, forcing Janičić to tap in the first round.
A dream debut.
A first-round finish.
A statement to the entire lightweight division.
Ten Years of Hard Work
This victory wasn’t built in one training camp.
It was built over almost ten years of dedication inside Casa de Luta, countless rounds on the mats, endless drilling, hard sparring sessions, victories, setbacks, and an unwavering belief that one day Noah would reach the UFC.
Many people only see the fifteen minutes inside the cage.
We see the thousands of hours behind them.
More Than Just a Fighter
Watching Noah grow has been one of the greatest privileges of my coaching career.
He is talented, disciplined, humble, and always willing to learn. He has overcome adversity throughout his career and has repeatedly proven that being the underdog means nothing when preparation meets opportunity.
This UFC debut is not the finish line.
It is only the beginning.
A Proud Moment for Casa de Luta
This victory represents more than one athlete.
It represents every teammate who shared rounds with Noah, every coach who helped shape him, every family member who supported him, and every member of Casa de Luta who believed in this journey.
Having one of our own earn a first-round submission victory in his UFC debut is something our entire team can celebrate.
Congratulations, Noah
Kid…
Words cannot describe how proud I am.
Watching you walk into the UFC Octagon after all these years, then seeing you leave it victorious exactly as we dreamed, is something I will never forget.
Trust your journey.
Stay humble.
Keep working.
This is only the first chapter.
Congratulations on an unforgettable UFC debut.
We’re proud of you. Always. 💙🥋
