Backstage Jiu-Jitsu with Matt Heafy (Trivium) Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of my backstage training session with Matt Heafy from Trivium.

With only a minute to roll, every exchange matters. This short session showcases the technical and relaxed side of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where movement, timing, and positional awareness take priority over intensity.

One of the things I enjoy most about these backstage sessions is adapting Jiu-Jitsu to the environment. Whether we’re training in a dressing room, backstage area, or any available space, the focus is always on learning, having fun, and keeping everyone healthy before they step on stage.

This video is another chapter of my Backstage Jiu-Jitsu Project, where I document training sessions with touring musicians from around the world. My goal is to show how Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu creates connections far beyond the academy, bringing together athletes, artists, and music fans through a shared passion for the sport.

If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check out Part 1, and stay tuned for Parts 3 and 4 as we continue this backstage rolling series.
