Training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Dennis Vichidvongsa (SPEED HARDCORE)

Hardcore and Jiu Jitsu share the same energy — intensity, discipline, and community. During SPEED’s European tour, I had the chance to train with Dennis Vichidvongsa, guitarist of one of the most powerful hardcore bands in the scene right now.

It was inspiring to see how Dennis brought the same passion he has on stage into his BJJ training. Rolling with musicians like him proves that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu isn’t just for fighters — it’s for anyone who wants to grow, challenge themselves, and connect through movement.

🎶 Why Training Helps on Tour

Touring is tough — late nights, long drives, irregular meals, and the constant pressure of performing. As a lifelong music fan and a BJJ coach in Germany, I’ve seen how much artists give on stage, and I believe they deserve tools to stay grounded off stage.

That’s where Brazilian Jiu Jitsu comes in. Training offers:

  • 🧘 A reset for body and mind after endless travel
  • 💪 A way to stay sharp and energized before shows
  • 🌍 A community connection outside the tour bubble
  • 🎵 A different rhythm — discipline, flow, and presence

For musicians, this isn’t just exercise. It’s a way to find balance, keep stress in check, and reconnect with themselves during the chaos of tour life.
